Know Your AC Terms

We’ve used some industry terms in the lists above – here’s what they mean.

SEER

SEER stands for seasonal energy efficiency ratio, and it’s how the energy efficiency of any air conditioner is rated. Higher numbers are more efficient, and will help you keep those monthly electricity bills down.

Compressor

A compressor pumps the refrigerant between the indoor unit and outdoor unit of your AC system. Two-stage compressors are more efficient because they can run at a lower setting when needed. They also provide more even temperature control.

Cooling Power

The cooling power of an air conditioner can be measured in tons or BTU/h (British thermal units per hour). You need enough cooling capacity, but not too much for the size of your home. To make a long story short, we’ll help you get the right amount of cooling for your home.

Expert Installations for Better Performance

No matter what brand of air conditioner you buy, it’s important to get an expert to help you make the right choice and to ensure it’s installed correctly.

Some other contractors may cut corners, hoping to give you a bargain basement price. The problem with that is you’ll end up paying more in the long run with higher energy costs and more repair bills.

Air Quality Dunrite believes in hiring expert technicians with the right licensing and servicing skills. They’re friendly folks who believe in arriving on time, doing the job right, and cleaning up after themselves when the job is done. You’ll also find our technicians treat you how everyone should be treated: with polite, friendly respect. We guarantee it.
